I've been hearing soooo much about the caramel cake, I just have to try it. I am going to add an apple filling...goes with the season. Now I need a good icing! I do want to be able to add flowers to the top of the cake, since it is for a BDay. Any ideas?
I know I have heard on some of the threads that people add some of the powdered vanilla/caramel creamer to their buttercream. You may not want to put too much in, might make the cake too rich....but hey, some people like it that way.
I am going to try the caramel cake with apple filling next week, think I will also add a tad bit of my liquid vanilla/caramel creamer in place of the liquid in my buttercream.....can't wait!
Okay, I'm doing butter cake with carmel filling-except- that I don't ahve a clue on how to make it! Any suggestions? The cake is for this weekend, and it's three tier. I was thinking I might play with the fillings and try a different one in each tier(It's a freebie!) I bought a bag of Toffee Bites, that I thought sounded good with it, just not sure how to get a carmel filling. I'll be using carmel cream cheese frosting. Thanks, Katie
OK I apparently haven't been reading enough of the threads on here LOL.
What's this caramel cake? Would you post the recipe please?
the caramel/apple mix sounds heavenly. I'd love to attempt it myself.
thanks in advance
Add 2 T. dry Vanilla/Caramel Coffeemate creamer to a white cake mix or scratch cake before mixing. Or...substitute 1/4 cup of the liquid version of the creamer in place of a 1/4 cup of water or milk, whichever you use in your recipe. Bake as usual.
