Can I mix Gum paste with mmf for a more sturdy mmf???? I've got an order for a cake with palm trees and flip flops on it and was going to make the trees stand up on the cake, but was wondering if I could do that, and if it's still edible when mixed with the gum paste??? icon_confused.gif Can anyone help me????

There was a link about this not too long ago about adding 2 teaspoons GumTex per 24oz fondant to make it harden faster. I haven't tried it yet though. That should work, but won't taste very good. Not sure about Gumpaste though. You may also be able to put bamboo skewers in the MMF palm trees to hold them up and be able to avoid the GumTex. Let us know what works.

How about using a wafer stick cookie (we call them Pirouettes, but they are long stick-like wafer cookies) as your base for the palm trees. I don't know if the fondant/gumpaste will stand on it's own.
