Question: How much and what kind of decorations do you put on the cake before you transport them? Typically how much time do you spend setting up cakes?

My last cake I only frosted the cakes (actually that made my week very low stress, only frosting doesn't take that long!) and then assembled and decorated on site. The cake took me over 2 hours to decorate once I got there... I literally had 2 minutes between when I finished and the bride arrived!

If I have to travel with one I only do the things that I am sure will not fall off in transport. Last wedding I did I had to pipe around pillars after they were added and touch up some border.
