Okay guys,

I'm very new to the whole cookie decorating thing. I've had a cake customer to request cookie favors for a party. They will be square cookies with one letter, an initial, on them. They haven't decided yet if they want all icing or fondant. She also wants them packaged and wrapped with a bow. It looks like countrykitchen has the cheapest price on the baggies. Not sure yet how much the ribbon would cost.

What do you think I shuld charge per cookie? Much thanks for any help, I need it!

I would charge $3 per cookie if they're smaller than 4 inches. $3.50 if they're bigger than 4 inches.

What supplies do you add into the price of the cookies? I know that the normal stuff should be included but what do you consider "extra" or "special" items that a customer might request on a cookie?

hmmm...well- nothing is extra, I guess- actually- I did charge a lady .25 extra per cookie once, since she wanted 15 cookies all with different initials, but it was more her suggestion than mine. I suppose if they wanted them completely covered in lusterdust (like my watering cans) or maybe covered in dragees, that would be reasonable! Also- I've seen people layer cookies before- like add a small round one on top to make a pig snout that sticks up, etc. I think that should be more.
