Hi

I ask this questions because two persons who bought cakes told me that my price were really cheap !!! When I want to be sure of my price, I call in a pastry shop in my area and I charge around 0.10 less than them per cake piece.

I would like to know how much do you charge for the cake in this link ??

It is a 6,9,12 inches cakes. 6 and 12 are chocolate cakes filling with belgium ganache. The 9 inches cake is vanilla with a berries filling. The decoration was supplied by the brides.

Thanks to secure me !! Because if I have to upgrade my prices, I will do with pleasure !!! icon_lol.gif

I would charge between 250$-300$ The cake is simple and elegant, no labor intensive flowers, your fillings to me sound like they're worth the money. Are the cakes scratch or mix?? If they're scratch (I'm assuming they are) I would lean closer to the 300$ mark. If you had to do a bunch of detailed sugar flowers for a similar cake I would charge even more. How'd I do???

I'm clear across the country, but I'd say go with what your area will support. I'm more than some bakeries here and less than others. Kind of right in the middle, I guess.

For that cake, here, in my area, I'd charge $3.25 a serving for it as a butter cream cake, $3.75/sv as a fondant cake, and an extra $1.00 or more for each calla and $0.50 for each leaf...Hope that helps.

LOL--Oh, and an extra "you must be kidding" charge for the bride's choice of topper. I'll never *get* those silly toppers...but that's just me. I had a similar one used on my blue scrollwork cake...which is why in the picture I took, it is topper-less...! icon_wink.gif

That is why pricing is so hard....you have to be low to get work sometimes - those .10 might be why they picked you! Now, hopefully, they know how good you are and they will be loyal.
The cake is beautiful. As long as you are happy with what you charge - go for it! I doubt you got into this to get rich............

And here I thought I was the only one that thought those toppers were ridiculous and for the most part a blemish on a beautifull cake...
