Fill it after it cools. And use a bag and tip.. a Bismark tip. Or any looooong tip. Stick the tip into the cupcake and squeeze the bag and ta da!
You got filling in your cupcake!

ONce you do this....to ONE cupcake, cut it open and see if it's enough filling.....soon enough you'll know when it's enough just by the feel/weight of it.

Good Luck to you!

I use a tip 10. I will stick it in two or three places near the middle depending on how much filling I want. icon_smile.gif

When I fill cupcakes, I actually fill it from the bottom side. I guess I find it gives more room for the filling that way.

If I fill it from the side or bottom that mean I need to remove the papercup - right?

Fill a cupcake from the side?? Filling from the top you don't have to distrub the paper and the holes are covered with icing.

Wow! I never even thought of filling a cupcake! What sorts of fillings would you use for, say, chocolate or vanilla cake?

I got myself a couple of the Bismark tips and they work fantastic! I recently used an apricot filling in carrot cake cupcakes and the folks who ate them were suprised by it. Anyway, I went from the top down the center and filled just until the filling started to come out of the top. Oh, I also moved the tip around to make sure plenty got in.

The combinations are infinite!!!

Thanks so much for this tip Rhondie
I just had to try it last night, and i made up a new custard made with coconut cream instead of milk, and filled some vanilla cupcakes. I took them to work and they were a BIG HIT.
Now i know how to fill cupcakes without making a mess, and they are soooooo good.
YUMMO.
