Right this very minute I am sitting on the couch, browsing CC, and waiting for my cake in the oven to get finished baking. Guess what? I just realized that I forgot to put the butter in!!! I could just wring my own neck! !@#!@#!@#!!!. Well, I just needed to tell someone and get that off my chest.

I've never done that, so I don't know what the results will be. I might try adding a simple syrup with butter extract. Just a guess!

You'd better not beat yourself bitter over leaving butter out of the batter! Bye!

I hate it when-the minute i close the oven door- i realize that i didn't grease the pan... icon_cry.gif
it's the exact SAME feeling you get when you realize the keys are still in the car when you lock the car door icon_cry.gif

Oh I have done that before only it was with oil rather then butter. Turned out the cake was still just as good. You may want to try a little bit before you throw it out.

Yessssssssss, it's for an ORDER!! I feel so sick! I baked a little practice cake (I always do), and it tastes ok. I was going to torte it and fill with buttercream. Do you think the moisture from the buttercream compensate? I am terrified of hearing back that my cake was dry. I'm known for really moist cakes. I could just faint, I have to finish this cake tonight. GEEZ!

I had a little mishap the other day too. I was making a dbl batch of buttercream icing and had just finished decorating and figured I should get started tackling the HUGE mess I made in the kitchen. That's when I came across a pound of icing sugar in the opened bag.... I was mixing it in little by little and only ended up putting in 1/2 the icing sugar the recipe called for. Still tasted ok and nobody complained. Guess I'll have to stop decorating until 3 am...lol

We should get together. You forgot the butter and I...didn't. I was baking cookies the other day and accidentally, get this..., quadrupled (X4) the butter. so to even it out I went back and fixed the rest of the ingredients too. It worked out in the end and on the bright side I have enough peanut butter cookies to last me until 2010...

I did this once and it was the first order for a new customer. I baked the cake and decorated it, delivered it, came home and went to bed so I could go to work that night. The next morning when I got home from work I went to put something in the microwave and when I opened the door, there sat my bowl of melted butter..... YIKES!

I thought the texture of the cake seemed a little strange but didn't think to much of it. I felt horrible and offered to do the next order for free. I just couldn't apologize enough.
