Erm.... what are candy melts?
I'm just wondering if I can work out with the UK equivalent is?
Thanks

Like a confectionary coating, sometimes they call it almond bark. It isnt real chocolate but you dont have to temper it.
Thank you.
I don't think we have anything like that.

ps: I like your rabbit in the hat cake. I made one just like that for my son's birthday last December!

I think it's also called summer coating or confectionary coating. The cocoa butter in real chocolate is replaced by some other type of vegetable fat.
One brand that might be available is Merckens.
Thank you.
Unfortunately, it's still not ringing any bells!
Maybe it's just not used in the UK?
I would think you must have something similar. YOu can find it often in the baking isle with the cocolate chips, it often comes in bars (white or chocolate) I think it would say it is made for melting or dipping. It is not REAL chocolate so they would probably call it a candy or coating or something.
maybe you could try reposting your question with the subject title as something like "candy melts in UK" so the UK people might provide some insight.
Here's a link to a UK shop that has them... http://www.cakedecoration.co.uk/merchant.ihtml?pid=7802&step=4
The only way that I can describe them is that it would be the same thing you would use to dip strawberries.
Hope that helps
Thanks for all your replies.
And thank you for the UK link... I did do a Google search for Candy Melts, UK but didn't find anything.
Thank you!
