What can I do to get the lovely "domes" on a cupcake?
I used the recipe from "Swans Down" cake flour website. The cupcake tastes great, but I wish it had a fuller top and not so spread out.
Thanks!

Fill them 3/4 of the way instead of 2/3 like normally... and I think the trick is to lower the temp a little and cook it a little longer... I'm not 100% sure because normally mine come out domed anyway I do it...

I have tried that recipe also. I didn't like how they came out.
I always bake at 325, I usually love the results I get. Good Luck.

Actually I think if the temp is a little higher they rise faster and you get the dome effect... not sure but I know to get a level cake I always lower my oven if not I get a high dome. I could be wrong but try raising the temp by 25 degrees and watching them closely not to overcook..

I fill mine with a 1/4 cup ice cream scoop, then bake at 350. (if your oven runs hotter you could bake a little lower than this.) The higher temperature sets the sides first and then forces the center to bake upwards icon_smile.gif Make sure your oven is preheated first!
