Does anyone have any ideas for cheaper/neater alternatives for cake stands or separators? Does anyone have pics to share of anything cool they have used or seen?

I have used the glass blocks you can get at Lowe's for filling in a window. I like them because I have 8 and I can use as many or as few as I need for any size cake. They are very sturdy, cheap $3.00 ?, and look nice with lights and tulle inside or covered with a nice fabric. I have a few examples in my pics.
