I am attempting to do my first FBCT. Does anyone have any helpful tips that will make it easier for me? I am still unsure about how this works.

Hi jayla,

When I do my bct, I fill the outline first and then freeze. After the outline is frozen, I fill in an area quickly before the outline thaws and then freeze again. I just keep repeating the freezing and fill-in process until I'm finished.

After the final freeze, I remove the bct from the freezer, cover the back with wax paper and place a firm support over the wax paper and then flip the transfer over and remove the wax paper and let the bct thaw and crust.

After crusting, I smooth with Viva. When it is smooth enough for me, I place back in freezer to refreeze. Once it is frozen, remove and place wax paper over the transfer and use support as you normally would and then refreeze until you are ready to use.

I find that this really work for me thumbs_up.gif

I agree with Stephanie...work in it some, freeze, work more, freeze.

I have only done 2 of these, 1 stuck all over the wax paper and the other was perfect. I used a different recipe the second time and I also rubbed the wax paper with a little shortening before I started icing it. It came off the paper perfectly!
