Uh oh. I was just prepping to do my first ever silver dust project when I realized I don't know which step goes when.

For example, do I paint the silver onto the fondant while it's still on the vinyl or do I wait until the fondant is on the cake and paint it there?

I was kind of thinking that if I paint the fondant while it's still on the vinyl, then my hands would get messy trying to place it with the wet paint on the cake. But then, if I let it sit and dry first, wouldn't the fondant get hard? Help! As y'all can see, I'm thinking waaaaay to much about this. I'll bet the solution is easier than I think!

Thanks in advance for helping. Y'all always come through and I appreciate you!

I have always covered my cake with the fondant first, and then dusted it with the luster dust, or painted it or whatever....
