Okay,
I've been doing some reading on how to use Luster Dust. I will be using it tomorrow night in paint form to give the effect of golden pages on an open book. Now the open book was originally a 1/2 sheet cake (I had to carve a bit off to make an open book shape) and I will be making the top, bottom and both sides of the cake (or the book pages) gold.

About how much Luster Dust should I get? I only got one small container (about the usually size), but I'm afraid I won't have enough to cover all the sides of the cake. I heard you are supose to use only 1/4 teaspoon and a couple drops of vanilla extract or vodka. I know one container will go a long way, but will one container really be enough? And I will be painting this on with a paint brush not spray painting on as I don't have a spray paint pump/machine/thingy.

i think it will be plenty. 2g really does go a long way. if you're really worried, buy two and then you can return the unopened one if you don't need it.

I have not used my luster dust yet so I have no advice but wanted to say your design sounds adorable!
