I am planning the Police Academy Pic-nic for Aug 12th and I need some ideas for Activities.

We are going to have Food bugers ect and a potluck for the rest. I am going to try to have a raffle...but it is kinda late notice to get that started because I need most of the stuff donated. We are trying to raise money for the graduation.

So any suggestions?

$$$ makers:

kissing booth

some variation on dunk the... or throw a pie at.... (meaner version -- throw an egg at....)

be sure target wears eye protection! (of course it should be the head instructor!)

and of course any of those games you see at traveling carnivals

ring toss

basketball toss

ping-pong ball toss (the one where you win a fish)

------

easy prizes -- gift certificates, movie tickets and of course cakes, cupcakes, cookies, brownies.

Yikes.... whats a cake walk!! Wow!

j/k-- A cake walk is people buy tickets to play and then walk around the circle when the music stops the MCee draws a number. Whomever is standing on that number wins a cake.... or a slice....or a cupcake.... however much you want to give out. Think musical chairs sort of.

several of the $ games can also just be fun games

other fun and games--

tug o' war (w/mud pit if possible -- so much "fun" for the losers!

egg toss (tho, this works best w/ cooked eggs -- the trick is you're trying to catch them w/ a big ol' soup spoon) (i've also seen this done w/ jell-o -- uber messy! -- or with water balloons)

egg relay -- RAW egg this time and a TEAspoon --- just like any relay race: from here to there and back, pass off to next person, repeat here/there until whole team has done it. broken egg = instant disqualification.

sack race

3-legged race

pass the orange/grapefruit/ball -- done w/ NO hands -- have to hold the object under your chin by pressing against the top of the chest -- next person has to take it from you using only head and chin and then keep passing it down until it reaches end of team -- best w/ 6-10 on a team

wrap the .....(again pick on the instructors)
seat each victim-- um, volunteer -- in a chair. give each team a roll of either saran wrap or toilet paper -- first to get their person wrapped up, wins.

eating contests of any sort (jell-o slurp is fun)

whipped cream beauty contest -- yep -- supply cans of spray whipped cream and the team chooses a member to "accessorize" (cherries optional) --- then the lovely contestants strut their stuff for the judges to choose the whipped cream beauty -- this is can be doubly fun if it's all men who are the contestants (have lots of water for wash down standing by)

There's a cool game out called "ladder ball"! I couldn't explain it right now but, you could look it up and see if it's something you would like to purchase for the function or see if someone has one?

Craft table for kids parent's always love! (oh and kids too!)Or making cupcakes! icon_biggrin.gif

If there are going to be kids pre-teens and early teens, the "potty toss" was a big hit at our middle school. You get a toilet seat (a new one of course) and the kids toss toilet paper rolls to try to win prizes.

Ring toss using 2 liter bottles of soda is also a good game. In my son's school the prize of "ringing" the bottle was the bottle of soda itself. You have never seen kids so proud of winning a soda bottle!! icon_lol.gif

Ok Walk me thru this.

How much would you charge for a ticket?

1. Numbers in a circle 1-30 or?
2. sell tickets
3. Everyone walks around the numbers in the circle until the music stops.
4. Draw a number or have the cake already assigned a number?
5. person on number wins cake

Repeat for as many cakes as you have.

Right?
