Someone has asked if I can do a godzilla cake and they would prefer something 3D. (Of course, after I give them a price they could walk away).
I'm too worried to do the whole body for fear it will collapse when its transported. I suggested maybe from the waist up amonst the wreckage...

Any other suggestions for me? (40 servings).

"Mr. G" could be RKT covered in chocolate clay (modeling chocolate) -- the RKT would be put over and internal armature (skeleton -- think like duff) that would hold it upright and in place. attachment points at bottom of feet and where tail touches board would create a very stable 3 point support - like a 3-legged stool

the road beneath his feet and the town and the rubble would be the cake.

I recommend the book by Roland A. Winbeckler titled "Cake Sculpture". He explains how to construct cakes like in 3D. The book is very thorough. It is my favorite cake decorating book ever!

I've done something similar two weeks ago. Maybe you can have it sitting on its haunces. I've quickly sketched it (though not as good as Doug I'm sure you will get the idea icon_redface.gif ). If you have any questions - just give me a shout. The head was made out of RKT. All covered in fondant and airbrushed. HTH
