My daughter wants a cake with edible hibiscus flowers on it. I am a beginner at this and need some help as to the technique on how to do this and also whether to use fondant or gumpaste. Help!
Oh, me three. I was just researching hibiscus flowers last night. I read that you can use a lily nail and tip 104 to make them using stiff royal icing. Any other suggestions from anyone?
I can't remember who, but someone made a luau theme cake with buttercream hibiscus.Maybe if you look in the photo galleries, find it and the PM her for help.
My two cents.
Hope this helps some.

You can look under "Birthday Cake Photos" in the galleries and see one by Merissa. It is spectacular in it's seeming simplicity and wonderful color. Give it a look.
