My daughter wants a cake with edible hibiscus flowers on it. I am a beginner at this and need some help as to the technique on how to do this and also whether to use fondant or gumpaste. Help!

Oh, me three. I was just researching hibiscus flowers last night. I read that you can use a lily nail and tip 104 to make them using stiff royal icing. Any other suggestions from anyone?

You can look under "Birthday Cake Photos" in the galleries and see one by Merissa. It is spectacular in it's seeming simplicity and wonderful color. Give it a look.

Here is a cake I did with hibiscus flowers doing a FBCT. Pretty easy! I also have seen the idea of using royal icing with the large lily nail and doing a "petunia" only larger...like someone else suggested.

BTW:thanks lapazlady!
