I have an idea....but for I attempted I need to know how to paint fondant. Do you use dry color mixed with vodka. Or can you use paste color mixed with something to help it dry. I need to be able to do royal blue. Please help.....

its really very easy. get some gel paste color (royal blue) in a little bowl, pour some vodka in another little bowl. dip your brush in the vodka and then let it drip into the icing color bowl until you get the right consistency. its important to go slowly like this so you don't get too much vodka (easy to do) and make your color too runny. some people use a medicine dropped, so if you have an unused one around that would work too. good luck! oh, this is also how i do luster dust too.

this is how i also paint onto fondant. you can use lemon extract verses vodka but it dries way to fast and leaves to many streaks. like becca said be VERY careful when adding the vodka,it's super easy to put to much. in my photos i did a mother's day cake where i painted all types of flowers onto it and then dusted it w/ pearl luster dust. hth and good luck thumbs_up.gif
