I live in a small town in West Tn, and would really like to take some more decorating classes. I have already taken the Wilton courses offered near here. Anyone have suggestions on what my next step should be. Step by step books really don't do much for me. They're okay, but having an instructor is better for me, personally.
Thanks!

Do you have any cake supply stores near you? They sometimes offer classes...also you could check your local community college.

I have had the same problem about classes. I am the WMI here and wanted to learn more. So I invested in videos and DVD's that has helped me out. Not like in person but I can learn at my own pace.

Everything I know I learned by reading and experimenting..
I took Baking Classes, but not decorating, together with
crumb coating and icing a cake..but nothing very elaborate...no lustre dust or draping or flowers.
I also do a lot of trial and error. icon_smile.gif
If you are going to invest in videos, buy really good ones..Personally, I prefer books. I don't own any video on cakes. icon_smile.gif

I own soooo many books that I use to forget which one had what instructions in them. But the DVD's are expensive and the few I have are great to stop and rewind. And some have books to go with the DVD's.
