Anyone Ever Use The Wilton Cake Stamps?

It says it can be used on fondant, cookies, cupcakes.

The directions say, "Fill the Fondant Fun! Color Tray wotj stamping color or Fondant Icing. Dip a stamp into the color". What is Fondant Icing? Do they mean something like royal icing?

Are these stamps any good? They were on sale at HL for $1.49 so I thought I would buy them and see if anyone used them. Otherwise I will return them--God knows I go there enough, plus I have a 40% off coupon this week--woohoo!

Fondant - Wilton sells it pre-mixed - they say it is nasty tasting. You can make your own (which I still can't swallow) - it's marshmallow, powdered sugar and water. Look in the recipes and articles for more about it!

Oh I know all about mmf--I am addicted to making it--lol! Just that they tell you to "DIP" the stamps into fondant icing. With mmf, you can't dip the stamps b/c it is like a dough. The mmf is wonderful so you HAVE to try it.
I am thinking maybe food coloring to actually get this to stamp.

I haven't actually tried them yet, but I plan to. I was going to use the "paint" that people use when they paint on their cakes - use vodka or clear vanilla mixed with the Wilton paste colors.

I have seen recipes for something called "poured fondant" on other websites...maybe that's what the kit is referring to???

the fondant "icing" they are talking about isn't the regular fondant.......it's a liquid fondant...it's in a squirt bottle they're called fondant writers I just used them to put accents on some sugar cookies I did and they work really well.......I have never used the stamps but I think they mean you can dip the stamps in the"fondant icing" and then stamp it on a cake covered in regular fondant. I also thought the fondant icing tasted good...sweet like a normal icing, but it dries in less than an hr. which I liked being that I normally have to wait 24hrs. with royal icing before bagging my cookies .
