I followed a recipe submitted by newlywedws. It is a raspberry cream cake, complete with filling and frosting recipes.

I made the cake and the filling. I didn't have raspberry jam for the filling, so I used blackberry. Instead of the frosting recipe, I decided to try chocolate ganache for the first time. I love chocolate and raspberries!

The cake was just delicious. The filling made it even better. The ganache was to die for!!!!

This is the yummiest cake I've made yet. Not the prettiest. I made a heart shaped cake, iced the sides with some leftover pink bc, and poured the ganache so it dripped down the sides. I didn't decorate it, my ganache kept melting as it hit the cake (both had been refrigerated). Who cares, though? It was very yummy.

I highly recommend trying this recipe. Its a good alternative for someone who wants a different flavor cake for their occassion.

Thanks newlywedws!

You are going to want more than just one piece. I've had 3 so far.

I made a chocolate cake with raspberry filling and ganache (whipped to frost, then drizzled) OMG! I love raspberry and chocolate too!

I had cake all day today, with some green beans for dinner! Surprisingly, cake for breakfast keeps me satisfied for quite some time. icon_biggrin.gif Cake for lunch with a glass of water (gotta get that water in!), will tide you over again until dinner, which of course is a small serving of chicken and green beans (I am on a diet you know). But, can always have dessert! Cake with ice cream!!!

YIKES! I am in trouble when I hop on the scale this week!!!! Oh well. icon_redface.gif
