What does it mean when someone says they will give you a "bump" or when the only comment is "Bump"?

it means that with that comment (the one that says bump) your forum question will go back to the 5 listed on the home page (where most people see them) so that someone has a chance to answer your question/comment.

Does that make sense?

Before I became "educated" in the ways of posting...I thought it was a way to "bump" up your post count. DUH.

WELLL, since we are on that subject...I'm always to embarrassed to post a question...when someone. is talking about their husband, daughter, etc. why do you put a D in front of it "dear" maybe?? newbie dork here icon_redface.gif

skinnyjanice- You are right on track! (BTW, that was another thing that took me a while to figure out)

The 'D' does stand for dear. Unless you are in a moment of frustration and need to vent. Then 'D' might stand for DUMB, DARN, DANG, D@MN, etc.

Hope that helps! And ask away if you can't guess at any of the other abreviations. There are still some on here that I have to ask about.

One of the hardest for me to figure out was SAHM........which is Stay-at-home-Mom and I am one! LOL....I just figured it out a few weeks ago (you dont see it too terribly often but I was always like WHAT?) there is a whole list of the shortcuts that we commonly use somewhere...I will see if I can find it for you all.
