I have a request for an 8" round, 2-tier cake for the above stated occasion. They want it themed with banking or money instead of flowers as the recipient "isn't real feminine" icon_surprised.gif
So I am looking for suggestions for money/banking themed cake. They would like the message "Thanks Betty" ????

How about some money with his or her picture on it, you can do this with anedable image, if you do not have the machine you local food store will make the sheets for you for a small fee....

oh a bank robber would be funny but i don't know how you'd incorporate their message.

You could do a bank CD or note, and say it's time to "cash in". A piggy bank cake would be cute, Time to Save those Pennies!

Since they want rounds- make the larger layer look like a stack of quarters and the smaller layer like a stack of pennies. The message could be written on fondant/gumpaste in the form of a check with her name, date of her retierment, and where the amount would be written- you could write out 'twenty years and 10/360 days' (but use the acctual # of years and days she worked there , then for the 'memo' section of the check write in 'Thanks Betty'. The 'check' could be laying over or in front of the stacks of 'coins'.

just a thought, but you could make the 8" round and decorate the whole thing like it's a giant coin! (q,n,d p,hd,wh, etc..) you could use grey color or luster dust, or see if the local shop can enlarge a picture of a quarter on thier kopy cake machine, and do a edible image, placing her picture in the place of the picture on the coin!! Just a thought- fondant of mmf would work well as just a topper, or on the whole thing! let us know and post a pic!! Happy baking!! -B.
