Heres you a bump.
I offer cookie platters at christmas. It is an assortment of about six kinds of cookies. I usually put some candies on too (like hershey kisses, starlight mints, peanut butter cups etc.) I use a holiday tray and wrap with holiday celophane and tie with curly ribbon. A 1 lb tray starts at $13 and then I add $9 for each additional pound of cookies. I am considering raising my prices this year though by at least $1 or $2 per pound.
I only do hand decorated sugar cookies ... min. order is a dozen. I'm starting to get orders already so I'm thinking about baking some off in down time (hahaha) and freezing them so I'm not completely swamped in December.

Wow! What a great idea for a thread! Can you believe that Christmas is just around the corner?? I was thinking the other day, that I need to get together my list of things I do and get them out to the people I work with, hopefully with some samples and pictures. I think I'm going to be offering a petit four collection, chocolate cover oreo cookie cakes, and sugar cookie bouquets. I haven't though about what I'll charge yet. that's always the hard part. =)
My sister and I sold cookie trays a couple of years ago..I believe the trays were approx. 12", but we loaded the cookies on there. We had about 7 different varieties of cookies plus 3 varieties of homemade candies; the tray weighed about 3 pounds. It was very prettily tied up in cellophane with a wired ribbon. We charged $20. My sister is charging $25 this year for the same tray.
Can't believe its time to start thinking about Christmas baking again!!

I was just thinking about Christmas gifts for teachers and coaches while I was reading the threads about the cake balls. I thought I might add some of those to the goodie baskets that I make for teachers. I was also thinking about selling trays of baked goodies as a PTO fundraiser...now I have an idea of where to start my prices! CC is great!
Merry Early Christmas!
