Here is a link to one of the well known bakeries in our area. I used them for my wedding cake three years ago. And oh baby, their cakes are TASTY! ![]()

The wedding brochure gives prices for a variety of cakes and what they include. It doesn't say directly in the brochure, but I think they consider fondant a "custom order".
Just thought it might be helpful for those who think they might be overcharging (You probably aren't) or undercharging (You probably are!). ![]()

I was a little befuddled by that too. Bulk discount maybe? I know that once I am all set up it is not that much more work to do a cake to feed 50 vs. a cake to feed 20. Just more product. And always more than I planed on for some reason! ![]()

Here is a link to non tiered pricing for that same bakery.

I am now done with the guess work, thank goodness!
DH made me a pricing model (only took 2 years of begging on my part). It's pretty cool - on a spreadsheet. I have to finish loading in all of my recipes and I then I can determine exactly what a project will cost me. I add in my hours of labor - and boom - a price!

That is quite frankly nothing less than AWESOME! What a great idea. And what a fantastic hubby for working that out. Well, better late than never anyway! ![]()
How cool that you can just put in a particular recipie, the deminsions and any modifications and come up with a price!
I find they are underpriced. Does anyone agree with me? I live in the Boston area and I would lose money charging what they charge,
