Cupcake Bouquet Help Needed.

I made my first cupcake bouquet today and had some problems. I bought the wooden skewers/toothpicks from Hobby Lobby like Cambo suggested. I had them pointed upward to help hold the cupcake up. I did have two fall off and one fell out of the cupcake liner (paper).
I iced my cupcakes first but the next time I will place the un-iced cupcake on the styrofoam first. It was to messy trying to arrange the cupcakes with icing on them. I realized (after the fact) that I was doing the swirl motion counter clockwise instead of clockwise.
I have read the long topic about 30 some pages regarding these bouquets. I would like to know what kind of cupcake liners you prefer using? Paper or foil? I want to buy some mini cupcake liners also, because I think the mini bouquets look so nice.
I bought a terra cotta pot at Hobby Lobby on sale for .35. I like the look of the tin pails but I could only find them at Party City and I had to pay $1.99 each for those. I sure hope Target gets some soon. I found a great deal at Michael's and got some tall gold (would have prefered silver) tins. I have seen some cupcake bouquets used in these pots in the galleries.

P.S. Those of you who paint your terra cotta pots, what kind of paint do you use?
Hey, May I offer some suggestions... I use plastic picks I bought at $ tree and I use a different tip... my 1M always made mine fall off. Also, I let my CC's stand overnight before I put the cc on the pic because they sweat for a while after they are cooling off. I deco after attaching... I don't know how cambo is so successful at it, she is simply amazing.. unlike me
But hey..... we all learn our tricks our own way! So.... hopefully these tips will help you... yours look great by the way!
