Cute cake, terrible letters.

What can I do about a fondant covered cake that my HB message looks running and messy?

Is there a way to scrape it off without ruining the entire cake?

Can you upload a picture or is it too last minute for that? Did you use BC or Royal to pipe over the fondant covered cake? I don't suppose you have ABC cutters? If you did, you could scrap the frosting, create a 'mat' to cover that area and use the cutters to spell out your message..... probably no help since if you had the cutters already, you would have used them. icon_smile.gif

I've scraped lettering off of fondant many times....I have major issues when it comes to writing on cakes!! I've done it using my finger (in a moment of huge frustration), and I've also used paper towel. Sometimes I use a toothpick to write on it first with dots, then trace overtop with the icing.

Yes..If you carefully wipe it off with a damp towel it should come off.Go over it again if the color is darker. It should come off fairly clean but will leave a shiny type water spot when it dries but not that bad....

I would make a fondant plaque to go over it the part you don't like. Maybe an oval. Add some squiggles or dots around the edges to make it look pretty. Then rewrite your HB on the plaque.
