I am a begginer in the cake making/decorating field. I am making my sons baptism cake for this Sunday and I wanted to make cupcakes to give as gifts to our guests.
Can I make the cupcakes ahead of time and freeze them? If so, what's the best recepie for the cake and topping that will still taste great when they are thawed??
This site is amazing, everyone is so talented. I am really getting inspired by the gallery pics and advice on here.
I have made cupcakes in many flavors and froze them. I will tell you that one problem that I had upon thawing is the paper wants to come off. I don't freeze them anymore b/c I couldn't find a way to keep the papers from coming off. I did not freeze them frosted. HTH
I also freeze cupcakes a lot. I usually use the extender recipe from this site because it gives me about 29-30 cupcakes instead of about 18-20. I don't freeze them frosted, but I do take them straight from the freezer and frost them. They come out great. Good luck!
Thanks so much for all your help. I will freeze them unforsted and ice them the night before. I dont have to worry about humidity as we are in the middle of winter here and it's freezing!!!
Kinda glad it's cold for cakes sake.
I am going to post the pics when I'm done. I'm a novice so please be nice! ![]()
