I did a cake for my DH's co-worker the past weekend. It was for his wife's birthday and her nickname is 'Kats'. I delivered it on Friday morning at the office (I work in the same building as well).
Friday afternoon at around 4pm he calls saying there is a problem and can he have another cake by Saturday morning. As it turns out he braked really hard as some traffic lights and the cake which was on the front passengers seat took a bit of a knock.
Anyway, here are the pics. ![]()
Awww, poor kitty. You did a great job. I love the ball of yarn. Cute!
Love that cake to cute. He might want to put it on the floor board next time.
Awweee Poor kitty!!
I love both of them tho!! They were very cute!!! ![]()
That was a really cute cake before he killed it. I love the yarn ball too.
Thanks for the compliments
but I must tell you that I really did not "enjoy" doing the cat the second time round. It almost felt like I didn't have to put effort into it...if that makes sense
which is why I noticed only today that the poor kitty did not have any whiskers and a smile ![]()
doudoun : You asked a simple question and I really don't have the answer right now but what I will do is post tomorrow. It's the closed start tip but I'm not sure of the size. The outlines is done with the no 3 tip.
Regards
I'm so scared after reading this post........I just sent my DH to work with a cake this morning !!!!!! I ordered him to NOT put it on the front seat......I put it in a moving box and put cardboard inside around the cake board so it couldn't slide..and I said put it in your trunk and put all your junk around the box to keep it stable......and I was like......try not to drive like a maniac...just for ONE day PLEASE?????!!!!!!! Hopefully, my tinkerbell doesn't suffer the same fate as your cat (fingers crossed) So is the top photo the cake that you remade?? Or did you fix Friday's version?? Man my hand hurts thinking about having to make 2 of those cakes LOL

Hehehehe... I am just imagining you riding in the trunk huddled around the cake, softly crying as he takes corners like he's on rails, half empty bottles of windsheild washer fluid and oil are flying around, smacking you in the head, etc. He gets to work, pops the trunk, and there you are with frosting all over you bawling, "YOU KILLED HER!! You heartless SOB!!" I'm sorry, but I love how protective you are of your cakes. I 'let' my DH deliver a baby shower cake this morning and I couldn't breathe until I got the email that said it arrived in perfect condition and was adorable. (Delivered to where my Mom works for one of her co-workers, so I knew I'd get the truth about it's condition!) ![]()
