I am new to the site and I am sure you have heard it before, but how do you get a perfect edge on a cake with buttercream frosting. Mine always ends up messy looking. (from the top of the cake to the edge going down)

I like to use the upside down technique for nice straight top edges and sides.

I clicked on your photos button, but no pics came up so I'm not sure how "bad" you perceive them to be. (We are our own worst critics, ya know!)

All of my cake are BC and I totally believe in the Melvira Method (home page - under articles). the BEST method for smoothing BC!
