Hello! Yesterday I stopped at a garage sale and found a brand new never used set of 3 tier Wilton springform pans (no instructions) are there any difference between useing these round pans and other wilton round pans. I have never used sprinform pans before. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks you all.
I use springform pans for cheesecakes, but I've never tried a regular cake in them. It would probably work, though.
Springform pans are usually used for (and this is no technical description) - more delicate cakes or tortes, soufles, cheesecakes, etc that are difficult to remove from a regular cake pan.
Generally the recipe will note that you need a springform pan. I love mine! Chocolate Hazlenut soufle! Yum!
I have not tried to do a regular cake in a springform though.
I've used springform pans for my regular cakes and they came out great!
