I've asked this on other forums...can I stamp cookies with a rubber stamp, the kind normally used for rubber stamping stationary? I was told I could and that I could use a regular rubber stamp. If I need a food-grade rubber stamp, where could I find one? And how would I make the "ink"?

The only problem with using the regular stamps is the foam under it, can harbor bacteria. You need unmounted stamps. For ink i use the air brush colors, paint on the stamps and then just stamp away. Or you can use the americolor gels to paint the stamp with, or if you want a multi color stamp, you can also, color the stamp with the food color markers then stamp away.

Make sure you have a couple of cookies that you can practice on till you learn how much color is needed so that the stamp doesn't smear.

Unmounted stamp meaning no handle to hold onto? What is an unmounted stamp? Or would the staff in the rubber stamp store know?

An unmounted stamp is just the rubber part. You then would have to either have it mounted or mount it yourself, you don't want the sponge part that comes between the rubber part and the wooden handle. The sponge is what will harbor bacteria. There is an acryllic handle thing out now that would be good for this
