Hello,

I am VERY new at this, and I have some simple questions.

I am making some cookies for my work, and they are going to be shaped like little Nintendo paddles, like for the SNES system. I want to use MMF on them, and i read in another post how to apply Fondant to SC,but these are my little questions

Can I use MMF?

Can I decorate the MMF first, and apply it to the cookies later?

I appreciate any and all advice -thanks in advance

Or could I use bc? It doesn't matter if the cookies can't stack, but I would like them to look as good as they can, and taste as good as they can...

thanks

Chococherry,

Yes, definitely you can use the MMF for your sugar cookies. If your design needs a flat surface, I would cut out and decorate the MMF before you bake the cookies, and then place the fondant on the cookies as soon as they come out of the oven. The MMF will melt slightly and adhere to the cookie.

If the design does not need a flat surface, cut out the MMF and put it on the cookie when it comes out of the oven. Then decorate once everything cools. Good luck, and be sure to post pictures!

I'm no sugar cookie expert, but I've tried a few different icings. I like a recipe called Toba's Glace and I think it's in the recipes.

You can put the soft MMF on the warm cookie and then decorate it with other MMF accents or with bc or royal icing, or the new food writer type pens if you can find them. Some people paint on the fondant with dusts and a bit of alcohol or extract. I haven't tried it yet.

You can use buttercream too, which is the tastiest in my opinion. If you want to practice piping with your bc icing you can practice on a sheet of wax paper or on a cookie sheet, and then scrape it back up into your bowl of icing to re-use it. Keep it covered when not in use or it will dry out.

Have fun practicing!
