Need a cake tomorrow that will serve 50 people...was thinking either a single layer 16 round cake w/ a half ball on top done up to look like a ladybug, or a 12 x 18 sheet cake that has the ball bug as well...will that be enough, and will they be able to cut the 16 inch round like they would the sheet cake? Need a response or so ASAP...baking tonight. I think I saw where the 16 inch 2 layer will serve 100 people, but that would be wedding cake servings...would like to give them a better serving than 1/2 of a wedding serving, but trying not to do too much cake either...or multiple bakings.
HELP!!!!! ![]()
In follow up to my own question...looked at Wilton's cake serving guide...its says 11x15 sheet will serve 60, but that is about 1.5 x 1.8 serving size...not much. I had another link that use to tell me different sizes, but can't find now...Eileen something maybe. HELP!
I was thinking I would be fine with the 12 x 18 as well plus the half ball on top. Been told they always have left overs as is, so should be fine. I don't like doing sheet cakes, but as already stated...not sure they will know the right way to cut a 16 inch round that is single layered...heck, not sure I could do it right. Don't dare my DH, the brains of the business, because he'll take an hour to figure it out, and I will just be all the later getting to bed tonight...since I did no prep last night like I wanted to!
