I am designing my final cake for course 3 and want to do an ivory or even darker color fondant. My idea is to use regular brown vanilla to instead of clear to get an ivory-ish color.

Has anyone done this, or should I attempt to use a dash of brown?

I don't have access to any other colors quickly, so I have to work with what I have on hand.

Thanks!

Actually, using real vanilla to tint the fondant in a darker ivory or cream color will work quite well. Just please remember that too much vanilla will ruin the texture of your fondant.

Hi Skis!! I agree with tmriga...I've used the regular brown vanilla before in my MMF because I was out of the clear, I didn't really notice a color change at all. I would use a touch of brown coloring and work into it...just make sure it's just a touch.
