Is Gumpaste Edible?

Im know this is a dumb question but I wanted to know if gumpaste is edible. I never worked with it before or even eaten/seen a cake with it on it. Im used to fondant but I want to learn to use a different medium.

Yes, it's like bitting into a jawbraker candy, though. I don't recomend it (especially if you care for your fillings, lol).

what does it taste like? Is it like eating fondant pearls?
