Decorating By domestic_diva Updated 23 Jul 2007 , 8:19pm by melysa
Okay they want me to make a couple's wedding shower cake.
They gave me the invitations and want me to match them.
The colors are chocolate, blue and red.
They are sort of art deco, think abstract art.
HELP !!!!
can you post a scan of them or something so we can see and better advise, suggest options?
stacked tiers.
in the dark red
fondant circles of the two blues and the black placed on the cake.
(or base could be lightest blue and then circles of the dark blue, red and black)

i think this one would be perfect! just adjust the colors to match the invitations.

just lookin' at the invite and realized that if you do it square (like tutugirls cake) it would match even more so because of the rectangular shape of the invite. i also love how she added the jewels, it gives it a fun, but sophisticated wedding feel.
here are some pictures for inspiration

I love those ideas!
Now I just hope that the client will
like that idea so that I can get to do it!!!!
I love this website!
pm tutugirl and ask her if she minds you duplicating her cake. she's very helpful, she's given me some great tips this year. as a matter of fact, you see the photo in my avatar? the curled white fondant overlay....she taught me how to do that!
