I have a customer who has ordered cupcakes for a Wizard of Oz party and would like some kind of "topper". Her daughter is really into Dorothy and especially the red shoes. I have never made shoes out of anything, so if you could give me some tips it would be great!!!

Thanks,
Kathi

What about a chocolate mold? Otherwise you could use the pattern in the template section and reduce it down until you get it the size you want and make them out of gumpaste or fondant.

I really like Streichs candy molds, they carry every design you can imagine and are very reasonably priced. Here is a mini high heel shoe mold, 12 to a tray that would be a perfect size for topping cupcakes. I would make them with colored candy melts, or white chocolate colored with oil color, or semi sweet chocolate. But you could also mold them of fondant or gumpaste, it would just be more time consuming.

If you make these shoes out of a chocolate mold, you can brush them with red luster dust to give them that ruby red look. I suggest doing the shoes in dark chocolate, the red luster dust will shoe up even better than on white chocolate. Good luck! thumbs_up.gif

Thanks for the ideas. I need to see if I can find a chocolate mold locally. I'd hate to pay $8.89 in shipping for one candy mold.

Thanks,
Kathi
