I have a cookie recipe that calls for yellow cake mix and uses vegitable oil. But all I have is butter yellow cake mix. Can I still use the butter yellow cake mix and mix vegitable oil instead of butter?

according to the DH website:
http://www.duncanhines.com/DHAbout/productFAQ.asp#4
(click on the Ingredient Substitutions)

you can sub butter for oil so long as butter is melted.

(and this is how i do ALL my cakes...ick on oil...want that rich butter taste)

so I say go ahead and do full bore butter recipe!

I've used the cake mix cookie idea for years. Any flavor of cake mix will work.....but I'd stick with the other ingredients as called for in the original cookie recipe.
