A friend of mine wants me to make a cake from a Betty Crocker recipe that she has been making for years. The cake will be 2 11x15 rectangles put together to make one large cake. I will have to either double or triple her recipe for each pan. Given that this is a from scratch recipe, will the cakes turn out OK? Has anyone had bad results tripling a recipe from scratch?

I have doubled, tripled etc many scratch cake recipes w/ no problem - just pay close attention and do good math! I think it's candy recipes that you're not suppose to increase.

I went ahead and tried that recipe this weekend. I tripled the amounts and it came out fine...
