Hi all

I was just wondering, if you freeze a cake can you take it directly from the freezer and start decorating or does it have to thaw?

Thanks!

I will fill and crumb coat it while frozen, but i'll let the defrost before doing any thing else. I think you'll find many different opinions on this.

I like to have it thawed first, which doesn't really take too long. I had problems once with the icing puffing out away from the cake (bubbles), and though it was an easy matter to pop the bubble and smooth the icing, I'd rather it was just defrosted!
