It's hard being our own worst critic! I know when I started decorating, and even now sometimes, I would get so upset that the cake that I ended up with looked nothing like the one I thought I would end up with. I have a saying I have posted in my kitchen. I don't know where I found it or heard it, but it says "It doesn't matter what it was supposed to look like, it matters what it does look like." Since I found it and hung it up, I haven't been dissappointed in any cake that turned out different than I expected.

You just need to keep saying to yourself while you are making your cake. My cake looks wonderful, if they could make it look better, they'd do it themselves. Repeat as needed. The cakes you are making lood great. You just sound like you need to boost your self esteem up a bit. Quit listening to those negative voices - the ones in your own mind, and the ones from mean spirited people.
