I made a cake today and took it to a smaller upscale restaurant where my family had a catered dinner to celebrate my uncles wedding. They asked me to make a cake and permission was given to bring it to the restaurant. Anyway, the restaurant owner would like me to make cakes for his events, because he said he can't get detailed cakes from a bakery, like the one he uses. He said he will pay me 3-4 a slice. And he would take 20-40 off the top since I will be using his kitchen, cake stands and pans. He said I can do all the jobs or just take the ones that I want. He told me to make a list of cakes and frostings I'm comfortable working with. So.... I hate to say it but I've always said I would HATE to have my own business. But this seems it could be profitable, and I would still kind of be an employee... and business would come to ME. And just if I want it. Golly gosh... what do you guys think?? Hrmmm
Hmmm.....this sounds like a good offer to me. I'm sure though, I haven't thought of the cons yet. Maybe if someone else sees something we don't, they will share.
Seems you can't beat doing what you love for money and they come to you! I would like to do something like this. Of course I would have to finish all the laundry, keep the floors swept, clean my bathrooms, vaccum the bedrooms, wash the all of the dishes, and not forget to dust before I could get a real job. Oh, nevermind, I'll never finish that!
Oh well, maybe someday I could!! Good luck with your decision!! Let us know what you decide.

What does he mean $20-$40 off the top? OF each cake, each month? each order??
Get it in writing and ask tons of questions. : )
Sounds exciting though, just cover all your bases.
