I will be making a 2 layer 12" round cake... I was going to just use BC but then i just signed up on here getting ideas and found out about MMF... I would like to try it but i was wondering how much one batch would cover i would hate to buy it all and get home and make it and it not be enough... I dont live in a town with a store the store is 30 mins away... If someone could help me that would be great...

I have covered a double layer 9x13 with fondant and was able to do decorations with it and cover a controller (plus some extra for later use)for the x-box cake in my photos. I think it will make enough, but pick up enough to make 2 batches anyways. Sometimes mistakes happen and you may need to redo it--better to be prepaired just in case.
One large batch of MMF (16 oz bag marshmallows, 2 lbs powdered sugar) makes about 3 lbs (48 oz) of fondant. According to this chart, a 12" round 4" tall needs exactly 48 oz, and I usually find it runs on the high side, so you should be just fine with one large batch! ![]()
