I will be making a 2 layer 12" round cake... I was going to just use BC but then i just signed up on here getting ideas and found out about MMF... I would like to try it but i was wondering how much one batch would cover i would hate to buy it all and get home and make it and it not be enough... I dont live in a town with a store the store is 30 mins away... If someone could help me that would be great...

Seems like I read somewhere here that one batch of MMF is something like three or four pounds. Let's say three pounds, 16 ounces in a pound, right?, so 48 ounces.

Here's Wilton's fondant chart:

http://www.wilton.com/wedding/makecake/fondant/fondantamounts.cfm

According to that chart, you'd be cutting it a little close, but I really do think the recipe is more like four pounds/64 ounces...

Satin Ice's chart seems to indicate you would be fine:

I don't know if I've helped or just created more questions!
