I just made a batch of choc icing and it's really gritty. It's normally thin so I'm confused. Anyone know of a quick way to correct that without having to make another batch? It's almost as if I put too much sugar but I checked again and it's right.

I'm working on a big cake for tomorrow and NOTHING has gone right tonight. i'm sure I'll be posting something in the disaster forum tomorrow

It's possible that you got a little bit of water in your chocolate and it seized up on you. Trying adding a little bit of Crisco to it. That may help.

actually, I just made another batch and as soon as it begins to cool, it does the same thing. I'll try the crisco...

thanks for the suggestion...never tried that before.
