What is the proper method for "Glueing" items to a cake? Buttercream, Royal, something else? I have been using buttercream to glue items on but im not happy with that method. I think I could do a better job with assembling my bows on my cakes if there was a nicer cleaner method for attaching things. Any ideas?

It depends on what you're working with. Sometimes just water works for fondant and gumpaste, others royal or a tiny dab of buttercream is what you need. I don't think there's any "correct" method just what works for the moment.
