searching the galleries on "sneaker" yeilded these results: pics of sneakers

and there is this tennis shoe

and this shoe cake

just a stacked cake carved into basic shape of a shoe and then iced and detailed out. laces just strips of frosting done w/ basketweave tip or larger round tip.

Hi,
I have an order for the 20th, and it is a Nike Vandal Shoe. And no, I have never done one before.

I just baked the cakes today.

Planning to make the main cake a rectangular shoe-box, (got one from the Nike store).

I've baked two cakes in loaf-tins, and plan on stacking, freezing and then carving. The rest... I am going to rely on pictures, and my daughter modelling a hi-top lace-up sneaker!

All the best,
Karen

Edited to say:
There are some really good pictures of running shoes and shoe-box cakes by heatherlikesfood

and great instructions by antonia74. The link is below.

Could you do a FBCT? That would probably be the easiest way to make running shoes.
