I am going to buy my daughter one of these for her birthday, does anyone have them? I was wondering if I should buy her the "old version" which is just leapster for 60$ or if this new one "L-max" is worth another 30$ or so icon_eek.gif I have no idea and though someone out there may have some advice icon_lol.gif Thanks!

my kids have the older version--have to be honest they don't use it that much. They prefer just regular books.

My daughter has the L-max - she loves it! The games from the cheaper model work on the more expensive one as well as the other games. The lower priced model will only play a few games and not ones from the other model. She plays it in the grocery store cart, the car, and while waiting in line. Its really little so it fits in my purse - it was great on the plane to Disney too!

Worth the money! There are more advanced games as she grows too.

My daughter has a Leapster. She really enjoyed it at first, but now she plays it for a couple of weeks, and then she abandons it for several months. She's outgrown most of the games for it at almost 8 years old. It was really nice when we first got it, but it seems like they want to sell the more expensive ones now, so stores aren't selling accessories for the older products. You can still find them online, but we had almost nothing available for the Leapster at either our local Toys R Us or Target when we went looking for something new for a train trip a couple of weeks ago.
