Hello,

I want to try getting into cookie bouquets and am wondering what those of you that do bouquets use for sticks. I've seen lollipop sticks and the heavier cookie sticks. Do lollipop sticks work or are they too light weight? Can anyone tell me the best place to buy sticks online in quantity?

Thanks!

I have also heard of bakers using bamboo skewers instead of the lollipop sticks in their cookies. They are very sturdy and cost very little $$$!

It might be worth checking into.

As I was pouring over these wonderful forums, I came upon a discussion of cookie sticks. Wal Mart has big packages of skewers for .99 and everyone felt they were great. I am new to cookies too, so I bought them and they worked great for me. Hope this works for you too.

I have only used the cookie sticks. I like to tint the sticks (mostly green for using with flower cookies), so I need them white to begin with. The spray food coloring works great for this!

I always use bamboo skewers. They are cheaper than the cookie sticks and give you more length to work with when arranging your bouquet. If they are too long you can easily cut them to the size. HTH

You should be able to tint the bamboo skewers in the same manner!

The bamboo skewers are usually found in the same section as cooking utensils (spatulas, wooden spoons, etc), at least that is where they are in my area! the location could vary from store to store.
