Is there a way to help fondent dry faster. I just made the loops for a bow last night and I need them for a cake on sunday. Did I start to late with letting them dry. How long does it take for them to get hard enough? Does the bow get soft sitting on top of buttercream icing?
As you can tell this is my first bow and I haven't a clue so any input is appreciated.

It is wilton fondent and I just check them about an hour ago and they are not dry yet still movable. Would it help if I put them in the oven on a real low setting. Would that possible get the moistness out of them. They are purple so I did put alot of coloring {paste} in the fondent is that possible why? I did roll the fondent out very thin. If this cake turns out I will have to post it.

Try putting them in your oven. But do not turn on the heat. Simply turn on the oven light. Just the small amount of heat from the light will help cure your fondant bow faster. Any higher of temperature and you risk melting the fragile sugar crystal bonds in the fondant.
I got my cake decorated and out the door this morning-bow was intac and looked really nice. I did end up putting my tray of loops by my dehumidifier and this morning they were hard. I do live right on the lake I wonder if that could have anything to do with it. Anyway I am so excited! I love the gift box cake. I do want to learn how to make the one with the lid and tissue paper. Does anyone have step by step instrutions?

I live near the ocean and my fondant never dries hard. Humidity definitely has something to do with how quickly fondant dries. If I need something hard like a bow, I have to use 50/50 fondant and gumpaste or 100% gumpaste - otherwise I just have a sagging mess!
